Gavin Walford-Wright has more than 10 years of human resources experience. He has held numerous positions in human resources and recruitment, primarily in the financial services industry. He is an internationally experienced senior HR professional with a proven track record of success working at all levels in a diverse range of global commercial market environments. With all round HR skills delivering effective solutions to meet strategic business objectives and to build consistently improved business performance.
Gavin joined Qatar Investment Authority in 2009 and currently serves as the firm’s Head of Recruitment. He focuses on strategic issues, and works with CEO & Managing Director Ahmad Al-Sayed, COO Khalifa Al-Kuwari and other members of senior management to further organizational effectiveness and development. He oversees Human Capital, including recruitment and employee relations and assists with the human resources of a number of local, regional and international subsidiaries. He is most proud of QIA/QH’s recognition as one of the Best Companies to Work For in the Middle East – largely due to the quality of individuals that have joined QIA/QH since his tenure.
Gavin has been actively involved in the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) since 2003, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) since 2005, and the Arabian Society for HR Management (ASHRM) since 2007. Gavin is also a member of the British Embassy Business Council in Qatar and the Qatar British Business Forum.
