With a total of 28 years full time experience within health & safety management in the UK and internationally within major construction, facilities, petrochemical, railway, and engineering fields. I have held senior health and safety positions at both corporate and director level.
Developed and implemented company HSE policies, management systems, contractor’s assurance cases, HSE plans, training programmes and general procedures utilising the latest international ISO and OHSAS standards including 18001, 14001 and 9001/2005. I was also responsible for the development and implementation of the world’s first ISO 9001 certified safety management system / department in 1996.
Within the last 28 years, I have gained vast experience in preparing contract standards and tender documents, plus legal statements for health and safety litigation cases both in the UK and internationally.
During my career, I have maintained and updated my knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and relevant standards by means of continual professional development.
I also sit on the board of directors of the World Safety Organisation, which is a NGO Status - a Consultative Status Category II (Non-Governmental Organization-NGO) to Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.

Board Director for the World safety Organisations which is a NGO Status - a Consultative Status Category II (Non-Governmental Organization-NGO) to Economic and Social Council of the United Nations
The WSO helps initiate safety organizations; gives incentives and support to others; and encourages advanced organizations in highly developed countries to share their expertise and wealth of knowledge with those needing this data.
The WSO conducts conferences and international congresses. The resulting findings, recommendations, and resolutions are for worldwide implementation as needed. The WSO promotes safety / accident prevention professions and related fields. It strives for continuous professional development of and increased benefits for all practitioners in these fields.
The WSO strives to coordinate functions, activities, operations and related works with other international bodies and organizations. The WSO supports activities of other national and international professional organizations in their attempts to protect people, property, resources and the environment.

2006 - 2009Employed to establish a new health and safety team for Nakheel and develop a new Corporate HSE Policy and standards. The Nakheel health and safety department is responsible for corporate governance issues connected with health and safety on the world’s largest property developments and tasked to oversee health and safety as a major developer client organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
• The recruitment and general management of the health and safety team including, budgets, and manpower planning.
• Corporate strategic planning of health and safety, quality, and fire management functions on the worlds largest developments.
• The development of a fully integrated HSE management system and procedures, certified to ISO 9001, 14001, and 18000 standards in July 2007 by a UKAS certification body.
• Management of the Health and Safety Training department within Nakheel, which also developed and delivers the Registered Safety Advisor Scheme training courses on behalf of JAFZA.
• Developed and implemented a local and international corporate promotion strategy to raise the HSE profile of Nakheel.
2001 - 2003Managed a HSQE team responsible for development and implementing the corporate HSQE system in-line with the ISO, and Railtrack safety requirements. This allowed the company to submit the company’s Contractor’s Assurance Case to Railtrack, subsequently approved in June 2002, allowing the company to tender for major contracts within Network Rail.
Key Responsibilities included:
• The development and full implementation of the Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System at a Corporate and Projects level (Construction / Engineering).
• The development and implementation of the Corporate HR management systems
• Ensuring a risk profile was carried out on all new projects and auditing programme.
• Ensuring Construction Hazard and Risk assessments formulated to the highest standards.
• General Management functions including budgets and staff resources, project and work force planning.
